Domain Name Registration

Using a whois search will provide information on domain
name registration records.  While registrars do indicate
that having a domain not found does not indicate it is
available for registration generally this is the case.

The exception would be if someone registered a domain
before the whois database was updated.  So it is possible
that whois will show a domain available when it was recently
registered.
